Alex Hall says there’s no brokering a friendship between her and Tyler Stanaland.
In fact, according to the Selling the OC star, friendship might be too generous a term for where she and her costar—with whom she shared a few romantic moments—stand today.
“As far as our relationship, there is no relationship,” she told E! News at Boohoo's launch party celebratng its new exclusive storefront Collective. “The word on the street is he's in a relationship. So, happy for him. But, yeah, there's no relationship there with him.” And that includes social media, too.
As Alex added, “To my knowledge, I'm still blocked. I haven't checked. I don't really check up on things like that.”
Tyler and Alex first sparked romance speculation during Selling the OC’s first season in 2022, though Tyler was still married to Brittany Snow at the time (both Alex and Tyler have repeatedly denied cheating allegations).
And with Tyler’s divorce finalized by season two’s debut in Sept. 2023, romance seemed to abound once again, with the pair even sharing a kiss in the season’s finale, with all the promise that love would blossom.
But according to Alex, their romance never took flight—though watching season three back validated her feelings about the situation.
"Re-watching season three really brought everything back again," she told E! News in May. "Not just the emotion but just the frustration. And obviously there's scenes that don't make it, scenes that do make it. But it really, for me anyways, I was like, ‘OK, I'm not crazy.’"
As the 36-year-old further explained, “There was so many inconsistencies. And there was some revelations that happened after we stopped filming season three that really gave me a better understanding of why things were the way they were."
Yet, on why the pair were never able to make it work, Alex acknowledged it was a two-way street.
"There was fear on my part too," the mom of two admitted. "But I'm just a woman who wants a man to take the lead and unfortunately it wasn't there.”
Around that same time, Alex also took a moment to once again clarify the timeline of her and Tyler’s romance in relation to his marriage with the Pitch Perfect star.
"This post is meant to clarify and set the record straight on recent allegations seemingly aimed towards me," Alex began in a May 1 Instagram post. "I myself have NEVER been unfaithful in a relationship. Nor have I EVER been a counterpart to someone being unfaithful in their own relationship. PERIOD."
The reality star, though she didn’t mention Brittany and Tyler by name, explained why she’d never cheat on or with a partner.
"As a woman who has been on the receiving end of infidelity, I would never want another woman to go through that-nor put myself in a situation causing that," she continued. "I really hope that people can try to remember that even those in the public eye, or in the media are still REAL people..with real lives and real feelings."
