Actor Oliver Hudson revealed that he was unfaithful to his wife Erinn Bartlett before they got married in 2006.
The "Rules of Engagement" star eventually came clean to Bartlett, he said on the "Sibling Revelry" podcast, which he co-hosts with his sister Kate Hudson.
"When I got engaged, something happened psychologically, and I spiraled, and I was unfaithful, and I was cheating, and I was crazy," Oliver told guest Robyn Lively. "I told her everything because I couldn't live with myself and get married and be married and have children with this sort of weight."
The actor's frank story was prompted when Lively asked the 47-year-old actor if he regrets owning any of his many dogs. That led to a greater conversation about why he chooses not to live with regrets and about the early days of his relationship with Bartlett.
"I'm not sure I have many regrets because if I didn't, it was a choice that I made, whether it was a positive one or a negative one. Which I've made some horrible, horrible choices in my life just generally," Hudson said, referencing his cheating. "You would think I regret doing that, but I don't know where or who I would be if I didn't make that choice."

Hudson believes he is a 'good man'
Despite admitting to some wrongdoings, Hudson said he has no doubt that he is "good man" who has grown psychologically.
"It's about looking at the entirety and the totality of the relationship, not just the action," he said. "Even though it might seem extreme, let's dig in a little bit into why and looking at the whole person rather than this one affliction."
He credited therapy, his mother Goldie Hawn and his wife being "an amazing woman" for his ability grow past the situation.
"I was going through whatever I was going through and we were able to sort of therapy and do all of it and get through it. And honestly, if that didn't happen I don't know what kind of a person I would be," Hudson said. "So do I regret it? I mean no, I guess not. I regret causing pain. I don't want to cause anyone any pain."
Hudson and Bartlett got engaged in 2004 and married in 2006. The couple has three children together.
